Order Basics
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
GUANGZHOU, CHINA
Our minimum order quantity is 300 pieces per style in 4 different colors and sizes. All production is carried out at our Guangzhou factory and exported to the USA and other markets.
Do I need a tech-pack?
No, you do not need a tech-pack to get started. You can provide the measurements of your fit model, or provide samples of similar garments with the fit you like. We can also schedule an appointment to take measurements and create a spec-sheet.
Can I order a sample before ordering?
Surge Clothings creates a 1st pattern and pre-production sample upon committing to a production order. The 1st pattern is free of charge with production orders meeting our MOQs — it is an initial upfront charge but is later rebated or applied to your production order.
If you would like a sample before putting in a production order, we can accommodate that request. Please be aware of the cost associated with small-run samples.
What are the production costs?
The cost of production is dependent on many variables, including fabric weight, consumption, production location, quantity, and construction of the garment. We cannot provide a blanket cost estimate without specific garment details. Please use our Contact form and provide the required details to receive a fair cost estimate.
Apparel and Garments
What is included in full production packages?
Our team of designers and pattern makers assist with initial garment development to create your spec-sheet, 1st pattern, and pre-production sample. Included in the full production package: 1st pattern, cut & sew sample, fittings, grading, marking, pattern corrections, fabric sourcing, production, cost of fabric and trim, freight, duty and tariffs if produced overseas.
What if I don't have a design, artwork, or logo?
We do not offer artwork creation or design services. For the best possible results, we recommend pursuing someone with a specialty in art, design, and logo creation.
Do you offer sublimation dyes, pantone matching, embroidery, screen-printing, etc.?
Our Guangzhou factory has the high-tech machinery required to produce all forms of graphic designs, embroidery, patchwork, screen and digital printing, and more. During fabric sourcing, we can provide close-match pantones or custom-dyed fabric at a minimum of 300 yards.
Are there any garment types you do not produce?
- No leather products
- No gowns or bridal wear
- No bags, sneakers, or hats
- No prom dresses
- No infant wear
- No socks or underwear
Quote Process
Do you send proofs prior to production?
You will always receive a proof of your order before it is put into production. We do not print, embroider, or otherwise create anything without your express written approval.
Please review proofs carefully. If you need changes, let us know upon receipt. We cannot move forward with production until written approval is received.
How long does it take to receive a quote response?
Simple contact inquiries are answered usually within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). More complex inquiries such as cut and sew manufacturing can take up to three business days.
Order Timing
How long does it typically take to complete an order?
Turnaround times depend on the complexity of the order. The average time to develop your first sample is about 5–10 days after receiving your fabric details. Upon production approval, it is approximately 2–3 weeks of production time. Shipments from Guangzhou are approximately 30 days by sea.
When does my order turnaround time begin?
Your order turnaround time begins when payment has been processed. Please take this into consideration when planning your ship dates.
How can I make sure my order is not delayed?
- Make sure you are absolutely ready to order before submitting.
- Ensure all information submitted is correct and complete.
- Be ready to respond promptly to change requests and approval emails — failure to reply will delay your order.
- Avoid unnecessary contact with our team. We are happy to give updates, but excess calls can slow production.
Can you do rush orders?
Yes, rush orders are available. A non-negotiable rush fee calculated by the day will be applied to your purchase order for all rushed items.
Payment Terms
What are the upfront costs?
The initial cost of garment development — including 1st pattern, cut & sew sample, fittings, grading, marking, and pattern corrections — are all upfront costs. These vary per style and must be paid in full before we begin. The 1st pattern cost is later rebated or applied to your total production order.
When is payment due?
A deposit of 50% is required before production begins. The remaining balance is required before we release your finished products.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank wire transfers, checks, money orders, cash, and PayPal.
Can you send a sample or start my order before I make a deposit?
No. Surge Clothings will not move forward with any order until a deposit or payment in full has been received for garment development. This ensures we can serve all our clients effectively and consistently.
Can you give me a shipping cost estimate?
Shipping costs depend on your location, order volume, and chosen shipping method (sea or air freight). Please include your destination in your inquiry and we will provide an accurate estimate.
